This motorcyclist died when he collided with a car and his face was cut off by the windshield of the car. Decapitation in motorcycle accidents is rare but can occur under specific high-impact conditions. Forensically, it typically results from collisions at high speeds with fixed objects like guardrails, cables, or large vehicles. The mechanism involves hyperflexion, severe shearing forces, or sharp objects acting as guillotines. In some cases, internal or near-complete decapitation (atlanto-occipital dislocation) occurs without external separation. Protective gear, such as full-face helmets, offers some protection but cannot prevent extreme trauma. While exact statistics vary, full decapitation is an uncommon outcome in motorcycle fatalities, more often seen in high-speed or unusual crash scenarios with extreme mechanical force.
